Biography: Emmerick Kincade, first and only son of Sir Ulric and Lady Katelyn of the realm of Valfort. He has been training with a longsword for as soon as he could swing one, expected to be the pride of the family and eventually hold the noble seat that his father did in the realm. At the age of 15, he entered into a tournament for his family's honor, his Mother had fallen ill, so his Father was too worried to pull himself from her bedside and asked him to enter in his stead giving him the clasp that contained the family's noble armor. The armor folded out from the clasp when the words 'by my honor' were spoken by the wearer.
All of the young nobles training paid off and though he did not win the tournament, he certainly caught the eye of one Sir Randolf Eskander, the man he lost to in the finale match. Emmerick was almost immediately squired by the impressive Knight, a surprise to the entire Kingdom. Sir Randolf in his entire life had never taken a squire, and it was thought that he would die before he even gave the thought a chance.
Emmerick truly didn't know what he was getting into and the glory of being a squire as he was told was all for not. At first the only things he was doing were chores that a peasant should have been in charge of. He was ordered to move all his belongings to Sir Randolf's estate, and return the clasp to his father; he would be allowed to have it again once he was knighted himself. He spent days feeding the horses, polishing armors and sharpening swords. At first he thought it was that he was simply being used for chores, until Sir Randolf told him that the chores built character, made you appreciate the ideals of taking care of the things important to you.
He had stayed as Sir Randolf's Squire for almost 10 years, in that time he was trained even more in the art of swordsmanship, and ideals that a solid defense could in fact be more beneficial in a battle instead of brazen offense. It was around this time of training that he learned to take up the kite shield as well as the longsword, implementing a near flawless defensive offense that few could ever master.
